Recipe: Savory Bacon-Wrapped Meatloaf


  • 1½ lbs ground beef
  • 1 white onion, finely chopped
  • 2 oz. shredded cheese
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano or dried basil or Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 7 oz. sliced bacon

Recipe Directions

  • Preheat Oven

    Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
    Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add in onion and saute until soft and slightly browned. Set aside to cool.

  • Mix

    In a large bowl, mix the ground meat.. Add fried onion, cheese, cream, dried seasoning, salt and pepper. Mix well together.

  • Form Loaf

    Form into a loaf and place into a greased baking dish. Wrap the loaf in bacon.

  • Bake

    Bake in oven for about 45 minutes. If your oven begins to overcook bacon before the meat is done, cover with aluminum foil and lower the heat to 375. I like the bacon crispy on top so I’ll broil the meatloaf for last 5 minutes of baking time. Enjoy!

Tip: Serve with steamed broccoli or roasted brussel sprouts.
